Did you know that students who read during the summer significantly increase their comprehension, vocabulary, reading speed, and spelling accuracy?  Start reading and join a summer reading club!   Students who join a public library summer reading program and read 6+ books or 600+ pages will receive a $6.00 gift certificate to our PTA Book Fair in September.

Remsenburg-Speonk residents have the choice to join the following public libraries:

• Center Moriches Free Public Library,
• Riverhead Public Library, or
• Westhampton Free Library.

Dear Parents and Residents,

    Please take a few minutes to send an e-mail to as many of the New York State Board of Regents members, elected officials, and other education department officials as possible.  You will find below a letter to use and the e-mail addresses for these people.  Feel free to cut and paste the letter, make changes, add your name and address, and send out multiple addressed e-mails. 

    The Board of Regents is taking public comment about a proposed change to the formula used to calculate the rate that a school district may charge our school dictrict to educate our students at their school.  The proposed change lowers the cost that the other school districts are allowed to bill Remsenburg-Speonk UFSD.  This proposed change, if passed, will greatly assist us to control our future costs.  The public comment period ends on Tuesday, June 23rd.
